The Star Mine

Aaron took me up to see The Star Mine in Burke, Id on Saturday. The mine has been shut down for years but it was really neat to see all of the old buildings and town where some of the miner families still reside. We also took the FJ on a fun off road climb.

This week has been a long, emotional and exhausting one for me and my family in Louisiana. My grandpa was admitted into the hospital on Tuesday morning b/c he has pneumonia in his lungs and some bacteria in his bloodstream. He has been in the ICU area ever since then. They moved him to a different hospital that has a lung specialist in Baton Rouge last night. He is still on a breathing tube and receiving many antibiotics to fight the infections. My mom, sister, and brother Nick have been at the hospital w/him to keep a close eye on his progress. Right now we are waiting on some tests regarding his lungs and kidneys. I will try to keep everyone up to date as I hear more. It is tough living so far away when things like this occur.

As far as the weekend Aaron and I did things around the house (cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, etc). We went to the gym Saturday morning and I ran a little over 3 miles on the treadmill. Our weather has turned cold (highs in the 40's) so it is back to the gym full time now. We were able to have a girl's & guy's night out on Saturday, which was a nice change for both of us. Aaron went out w/some friends in Spokane and I had some girls (they live in our neighborhood) over. I made chicken enchiladas and we watched a movie. Very relaxing evening! :)
